2017 Altamont Zone LWML Fall Rally will be held at Salem Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 26th. Registration will begin at 3:30p.m with opening devotions at 4:00 p.m. The theme

 for the rally is The Word of God is our Fortress. “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might:” Ephesians 6:10. Rally Offering: free will, Catered Meal: Free will offering. Speaker:

 Rev. Dr. James Wright, trip to Germany. In gathering is Care Packages for Heroes. Military Kit List for items needed is on the bulletin board in narthex. Registration deadline is September 18th.


Family Life Center will be holding its annual Life Banquet fundraiser on September 28 at the Keller Convention Center. As a reminder, we do not sell tickets to this fundraiser. Dinner and

 speaker are complimentary. Attendees are given the opportunity to make a contribution to join with us in the work of the Center.


Salem Lutheran Church will be having a special service of Installation for Associate Pastor, Michael Feldmann, on Sunday, October 1st at

             4:00 p.m.  Everyone is in invited to join them for this celebration and for a potluck meal that will be held afterwards.



The Altamont zone LLL will be holding their bi-annual pork burger-bake sale at  the triangle in Altamont on Saturday, October 7th.  Baked goods and volunteers would be greatly appreciated.


Faith Lutheran Church Shumway annual Soup Supper, on Sunday, October 15th from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Free will offering. All proceeds will go to the Harmony Playground project which will be built in Effingham for

 special need children.


Altamont Reformation Rally Get ready! ALIS is celebrating! In honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, there will be a special Reformation Rally on Sunday, October 29th, at Immanuel Lutheran

 Church, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Professor Leopold Sanchez of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. All students will participate in the service and are expected to attend. Following the service, a potluck will be

 served in the ALIS cafeteria. Please mark your calendars for this special event! All are    invited!



ALIS will continue to collect plastic bags. During the summer you may drop them off at the school Monday through Thursday or at one of the four churches. After 3 years and 2 months, ALIS

 has earned $2,520. Thank you to everyone for bringing bags. Also, a special “thank you” to the people who take the bags to Wal-Mart.



Plastic Bag Change: Walmart can only send plastic shopping bags to their recycler. They will not take our bags if they include plastic wrappers of any kind of shrink wrap. So please only

 send in plastic shopping bags (any color is fine, except black.)

S & W supermarket HY-Top (store brand) will give our school $50.00 for every 1,000 UPC labels turned in. Save the UPC bar code from all HY-Top products and put them in the

 container outside the school office. Along with the Boxtop and Campbell labels. Thank you for your help.


Pastor Vail is requesting the names, addresses and e-mail address if applicable , of all members and members spouses that are in the military. Pastor would also like the names and addresses of

 all students that are in college if living at home or living at college. Please email the names and addresses to bethlehem@altamont.net or give to Pastor Vail at church.


Reservations to schedule use of the Parish Hall needs to be made by calling the church office, to check the dates of reunions, weddings, wedding anniversaries, confirmations, etc.

 Reservations need to be scheduled by calling the office 618-483-6756 during office hours and leave a message, if no answer, and your call will be returned.
